An Illustrated Guide to
Animated Christmas Cards
Over the last five years we have made over
one hundred animated cards. Here is
an outline of our process.
Step 1
Expoloratory Meeting
Before we begin a commission, we have a 20 minute meeting to get a sense of what your organisation does & what you want from your card. At this stage we set an appropriate budget.
Step 2
Idea Development
We share with you two written ideas for cards that you then choose from. If you like neither, we share more. If you already have an idea for a storyboard, we are happy to follow your lead.
2020 Commission | Marex Spectron
Step 3
We Develop Style and Storyboard
We share a document with you that gives both an indication of the style and a set of sketches outlining what will happen in the film, if needed.
2022 Commission | Hickory Food
Step 4
We animate
Once the storyboard and style are set, we begin to animate. This is where all the magic happens, bringing the visuals to life.
Step 5
Add Sound Effects & Music
We add simple sound effects and a royalty free music track. Unless you prefer to have a card with no music.
2019 Commission | Chilli Accounting
Step 6
Add Personal Message
We manually add a personal message for you inside each card, so that you can say something specific to your customers.
2022 Commission | Marex Spectron
Step 7
Our cards can be sent via email as gifs (no sound), or as mp4s that can be uploaded direct to socialor embedded into an email. We will share the film in the format that you need it in.
