Douglas Appling, (born 1987, New York City) better known by his stage name Emancipator, is an American electronic producer based in Portland, Oregon. His debut album, Soon It Will Be Cold Enough, was released in 2006. He played his first live show in 2009 as the opening act for Bonobo, who Appling admits is “one of [his] favourite producers.”
