#2. The Odyssey
A 10 Year Journey Home
A 30 minute introduction to the Odyssey by Oliver Trace
The Odyssey is the sequel to The Ilaid. Both are written by Homer, although there is debate as to whether or not he had some help. While The Iliad is a 10 year war that the Greeks wage against the Trojans, which they ultimately win, The Odyssey is about a ten year journey home that Odysseus endures to get back to his family. Odysseus cannot rely on his strength alone to get through his trials and tribulations. He must use cunning and wit.
