At the end of 2023 we produced a short film to be shown at COP28, exploring the importance of integrity within the Voluntary Carbon Market as a means of reaching net zero. Produced for multiple stakeholders, namely WeMeanBusiness, Voluntary Carbon Market Initiative, and Integrity Council for Voluntary Carbon Markets, the film needed to clearly communicate how companies should best engage with the Voluntary Carbon Market.
Our simple hand-drawn style with a textured line, and moments of soft watercolour, humanises the technical subject matter.
We went for a simple colour scheme of white on green, with some tonal variation, to keep things simple, aiding with the clarity of the message. Ambition, action, advocacy and accountability; we structured the film around these four steps as a means of reminding the viewer of the key message of the piece, enabling companies to take action.

Communicating with clarity and sensibility through online channels is now a defining feature of effective educational institutions. Animation is an increasingly popular route, as it allows diverse characters and multiple locations to be realised without the need of film crews and location scouts. Identities can be concealed when sensitivity is required. And it is at home with younger audiences.
